Letter from the President

Everyone,

Well, we have now come to the end of our 2nd year.  It certainly hasn't been an easy one for our business.  In fact, in many ways it has been downright hard.  But even through these very difficult times, we have managed to retain our membership to almost 100%.  I believe that says a lot about our organization and how useful it is to the members.   The Board has worked diligently to hold meetings that are educational, useful and interesting.  We strive hard to keep you up to date on the constantly changing regulations that we contend with every day and we remain on the forefront of representing our industry to the regulatory bodies that we deal with day to day.  One of my primary goals when I started CCE was to ensure that the organization was truly useful to its members and I would welcome any suggestions on topics to discuss.  A summary of what CCE accomplished in 2009 is below

In 2009 we

-Completed our BMP Paper that was submitted to PA DEP for consideration. CCE BMP Paper Comments

-Represented our Industry on the Statewide BMP Manual Revision Committee and Sub Committees.

- CCE Drafted and presented testimony to the PA Environmental Quality Board on the proposed Chapter 102 regulations. CCE Comments

-Developed a Code of Ethics for our Members (We hope to present this to The Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers in 2010) Code of Conduct

-Kristin Camp of Buckley, Brion, McGuire, Morris & Sommer LLC presented ' How to prevent and hopefully cure breach of contract.' Kristin's presentation documents can be found on the CCE website or by clicking this link. Presentation notes

-Learned of the years and upcoming major proposed regulation, this presentation can also be found the CCE website or by clicking this link.
Major Proposed Regulations 2009

As always, if you have comments or suggestions for the organization let us know, support@chestercountyengineers.com. We value your input.
