Shannon Healey, Chester County Conservation District
This presentation will provide attendees with insights on heading off potential failures in the field. Representatives from the Conservation District will discuss the real world implications for poor design decisions and poor implementation of controls/facilities on a project. Learn how to make your projects better by learning from mistakes made in the past.
9:45am-10:45am – Designing ADA Routes on Your Site Plan
Walter Schneider, Centre Region Code Administration
This presentation will help attendees ensure that pedestrian facilities and access routes on a site plan are properly designed for all individuals, including those with disabilities. The focus will be on ramp design, pathways between the street & buildings, and accessible routes within a project’s scope.
11:00am-12:00pm – Trends in Parking Demand Studies/Design Panel
Bryan Proska, Traffic Planning & Design; & Chris Williams, McMahon Associates
Local traffic engineers will participate in a panel discussion with attendees highlighting recent trends in parking demand studies & design. Conversation includes the application of the ITE standards, municipal codes, count calculations, visitor allotments, off-street parking, etc. The presentation also highlights areas of potential improvement in parking design as well as an opportunity for direct interaction by attendees.
