Presenters will provide legal, legislative, and regulatory updates on key land development issues for Pennsylvania’s engineering community. Topics will include ownership of engineering work product, new trends in federal and state environmental guidance, the practical implications of the recent Kardon Park decision, and the evolving applicability of the Pennsylvania Environmental Rights Amendment to land use matters

Representatives from the county conservation district will present on a range of issues important to your clients’ the land development projects. Topics will include reviewing the permit closing process, methods to successfully incorporate a rain garden, and answers to other questions you may have.
11:00am-12:00pm – Designing for Green Roofs & Blue Roofs

This session provides an overview of green roof systems including the types, benefits, components and related standards, as well as a discussion on how green roofs mitigate urban heat island effect and reduce stormwater run-off. Furthermore, one of the latest industry trends in storm water management will be discussed: incorporating blue roof detention ponds into a construction project.
