Description:  Beaver Creek Dam, located on Beaver Creek near Guthriesville, Chester County, is a flood control dam that provides reduction of flood waters for communities located along Beaver Creek, the East Branch Brandywine Creek and the main stem of the Brandywine Creek. With technical support and funding from the USDA-NRCS, CCWRA is undertaking a rehabilitation project on Beaver Creek Flood Control Dam.

This month, the contractor, KC Construction, is placing a roller-compacted concrete drop structure in the auxiliary spillway to armor the control section to prevent erosion. This tour will review the work site and discuss the roller-compacted concrete drop structure. We will also tour the rest of the high hazard dam and discuss improvements being constructed as part of the rehabilitation project.

PPE, including hard hats and safety vests, are required; safety boots or similar footwear is highly encouraged.

Attendees will earn 1.5 PDHs.
