8:30am-9:30am – Ethical Considerations of Engineers as Expert Witnesses

What types of ethical issues must you as P.E. consider while serving as an expert witness? Attendees of this educational session will learn more about their responsibilities. Presenters review various ethics opinions that relate to the engineering profession.
9:45am-10:45am – Case Study: Removing a Chester County Dam
Craig Thomas, Chester County Water Resources Authority
The presenter will discuss the project specifics associated with removing a local dam as well as managing the stream channel. Attendees will learn about low-head dams and the safety/environmental issues associated with them.
11:00am-12:00pm – ADA Exterior Accessibility Route Design & Layout
Juliet Shoultz, U.S. Access Board
This presentation will be focused on ADA considerations in the context of general site design and exterior accessibility routes within a project. Attends will learn the technical nuts and bolts of accessible route design including slopes, ramps, rails, turning areas, tripping hazards, compliant surfaces, etc.
